Young Volunteers

Why Volunteer?

Volunteering offers the chance to step back from our everyday lives, appreciate what we have and contribute back in whatever way we can to help other people or a cause we care about.

Volunteering is a great way to gain experience and build confidence and skills.  Volunteering will help your University personal statement and CV stand out and can be used to demonstrate attributes that employers look for such as reliability, teamwork and using your initiative.

If you think that volunteering is all work and no play – think again! Young people all over the country are using their passions to spread positivity to others, enjoy new once in a lifetime experiences and meet amazing new people along the way.

How do I find volunteer opportunities?

The easiest way to find volunteering roles is to search our database using keywords.

  • If you’re under 16, use the keyword ‘under 16

  • If you’re under 18, use the keyword ‘under 18

  • If you want to find Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) volunteering roles, use the keyword ‘dofe
