A third of Surrey residents aged 65+ (almost 76,000 older people in the county) live alone*. To address the problem of social isolation among older residents in the North of Reigate & Banstead, Voluntary Action Reigate & Banstead (VARB) is looking to recruit volunteers to help put an end to loneliness.

Volunteers make a huge difference by helping people stay connected and feel part of their local community.
We are working alongside a variety of local organisations and encouraging more people to become a volunteer for older people in Banstead.

What type of volunteering roles are on offer?
We are actively looking for Befrienders, Tech buddies and Drivers who have an hour or two a week to support someone who is lonely and isolated.
