To help volunteers and staff in the voluntary sector stay healthy, VARB is working in partnership with YMCA East Surrey to offer free NHS Health Checks for staff and volunteers aged over 40.
The Health Checks will include measurements of cholesterol/HDL (“good cholesterol”); blood pressure; body mass index; and associated lifestyle advice. They will be carried out by a trained Health Advisor in a consultation room at the VARB offices in Redhill.
To book a half hour appointment, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01737 763156.
If you have a number of staff/volunteers who would like to take up this opportunity then YMCA would be very happy to organise for one of their Health Advisors to come along to your offices to undertake the work. The only requirements from yourselves would be the use of a private room, WiFi access and a pre-prepared schedule of eligible staff (1/2 hour per staff member).
Offering free health checks at your premises is a low cost way to benefit your staff and volunteers and by helping them to keep healthy it will ultimately benefit your organisation.
