Mentor Volunteers – Kent, Surrey and Sussex CRC

In Volunteer Opportunities, Supporting others by Lisa Irwin

Kent Surrey and Sussex CRC deliver a range of rehabilitation services to people who have been sentenced by a court to either custody or community supervision. Their goal is to reduce re offending and in doing so, improve people’s lives – potential victims as well as the perpetrators of crime. They do this specifically by steering people away from offending. Their approach to rehabilitation puts the service user at the heart of their own journey to a crime-free life and is designed to address the underlying causes of offending. They call it My Solution Rehabilitation Programme. They are looking for Mentor Volunteers to help support service users on probation throughout their order/licence period. They work with service users across all levels of risk and support their volunteers to fulfil their work and personal goals. Working as a volunteer is a great way of building your skills while doing something that is really worthwhile and rewarding. As a volunteer, you can make a real difference to the lives of their service users, enabling them to play an active role in their community and contributing to reducing their re-offending.
