Surrey County Council has launched two new tools to help local voluntary and community groups access support and resources from businesses.
The ‘Social Value Marketplace’ is a web site that enables Surrey not-for-profit organisations to post requests for corporate volunteers, goods and services or even donations. The site is linked to the Supply to Surrey procurement process; so businesses interested in tendering for Surrey contracts will be encouraged to visit the Marketplace for ideas on how they can fulfil tender criteria which requires them to add “social value” to their tender proposals. The Marketplace is also being promoted more generally to Surrey businesses who have an ethos of corporate social responsibility. To add requests for corporate support to the “Social Value Marketplace” you need to register your organisation and then post individual requests. The site is relatively easy to use.
