Each week, a team of readers and production helpers edit and make a recording onto cassette of the Dorking Advertiser. The cassette is then sent free to visually impaired subscribers, to help people keep up to date with the local Dorking community. They are looking for a variety of volunteers including a Registrar, you would become part of a team of over 40 volunteers who assist with the weekly recording. The listeners return the memory stick with recording of the talking newspaper in reusable postal pouches. These pouches need to be prepared for the next recording to be sent to listeners. The pouches need to be collected from Downs Solicitors in Dorking and returned to the United Reformed Church, West Street, Dorking, so any volunteer should be a driver or live in central Dorking. The register is held on an Excel spreadsheet so having a computer, printer and relevant IT skills is essential.
